From Dough to Design: Meet Alex from Bakers Delight
At Campbellfield Plaza, we love celebrating the people who bring warmth and personality to our centre—and Alex from Bakers Delight is no exception. With a welcoming smile and a genuine love for customers, she’s become a familiar face to many shoppers who stop by for their daily bread (and maybe a cheeky scroll).
What inspired you to join Bakers Delight?
“I actually didn’t like bread at first! But the environment here is so family-oriented. Everyone is welcoming, and we’re all so close—it really feels like home.”
What’s your most popular menu item at the moment?
“Our Papi Pistachio Danishes are still going strong! Customers also love the Mediterranean pizza, berry white chocolate scrolls, and of course, the classic cinnamon scrolls.”
What are you loving right now?
“I’m obsessed with the cinnamon scrolls—especially warm at home with added walnuts. That’s a cheeky insider tip!”
How long have you worked here at the centre, and what do you enjoy most?
“I’ve been here long enough to know many of our regulars by name. I love trying to remember all our regular orders —I know it means a lot to them and makes their visit extra special.”
What’s the best part of your job?
“Definitely the customers. I genuinely enjoy interacting with people — it’s the highlight of my day.”
What are your interests outside of work?
“I’m studying architecture and love all things design. I also play basketball twice a week, netball once, and piano. My favourite duet is with my brother, and we love playing the Interstellar soundtrack together.”
Favourite time of year in the bakery?
“When it’s a little rainy and the sun comes out—it’s cozy, comforting, and the perfect time to enjoy fresh bread.”
